The Language Centre

The Language Center, a key component of the academy, offers a variety of foreign languages in addition to the core languages of Arabic and English. These languages include Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Turkish, all selected to serve the kingdom’s goals and facilitate global collaboration and aims to expand its offerings further.
Learning a minimum of three languages is essential to the progress of diplomatic work. Therefore, languages are a key component of diplomatic training at the academy. The Language Center is responsible for the various language training programs that the academy offers. Some of the languages are part of wider training programs such as the Foundational Diplomatic Program (FDP), the Professional Diplomatic Program (PDP), and the Pre-Appointment Program (PAP).

The Language Center focuses on developing diplomats’ language proficiency, communication skills, and specialized language abilities. It also builds capacity in translation skills to ensure effective communication in diverse international settings. Language proficiency and internationally certified language proficiency certifications are used as standards of progression, ensuring that trainees achieve high levels of competence.

The Language Center collaborates with internationally acclaimed institutions to align its offerings with global standards, ensuring that the programs are both relevant and high-quality. It manages the certification process, making sure that all programs adhere to accreditation and quality assurance requirements. Through these efforts, the center ensures that diplomats are well-prepared to meet the evolving demands of international diplomacy and effectively represent the kingdom on the global stage.
