DP participants visit Council of Representatives, Derasat and IISS

The Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies organized today a field visit for diplomats participating in the second edition of the International Diplomats Program (IDP) to the headquarters of: the Council of Representatives, the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies “Derasat”, and the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS).

During their visit to the Council of Representatives, the participants met with MP Abdul Razzaq Hattab, where the legislative and supervisory tasks of the representative were presented.

The participants were also briefed about the Parliament’s work mechanism, the functions of the legislative authority and parliamentary work. They also attended part of the 25th regular session.

During their visit to Derasat, the Executive Director of the Center, Dr. Hamad Ibrahim Al Abdalla, briefed the participants on the essential role that Derasat plays in analyzing strategic developments at the national, regional and international levels and conducting relevant research, based on an innovation-based vision.

Regarding the participants’ field visit to IISS, two round-table sessions were held, chaired by Middle East Policy Research Fellow, Dr. Hassan Al-Hassan, on power, strategy and multilateral relations.
