The Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a celebration today at its headquarters to mark Bahraini Women’s Day, which is celebrated on December 1 each year. The event was organized by the Equal Opportunity Committee of the ministry and attended by senior officials, the chair and members of the committee, and ministry employees.
The Director General of the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies, Dr. Shaikha Muneera bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, delivered the opening speech on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. She praised the achievements of Bahraini women across various fields and highlighted the support, care, and encouragement they have received under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the support by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Dr. Al Khalifa also noted the commendable efforts of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the King’s Wife and President of the Supreme Council for Women, in promoting the advancement of Bahraini women and supporting their progress, as well as working to achieve their aspirations and enhance their constructive role in the comprehensive developmental journey.
Dr. Al Khalifa extended her heartfelt congratulations to Bahraini women on Bahraini Women’s Day. She remarked that it is a cherished occasion to reflect on the outstanding achievements made and to commend the contributions of Bahraini women to their families and the nation.
The Director General of Legal Affairs and Human Rights and Chair of the Equal Opportunity Committee, Ambassador Dr. Youssef Abdul Karim Bucheeri, commended the Minister of Foreign Affairs for his support of the committee, which has contributed to achieving its desired goals.
Dr. Bucheeri also congratulated all ministry staff for their dedicated national efforts in supporting Bahrain’s foreign policy objectives and enhancing its achievements in the fields of diplomacy and sustainable development, as well as their active participation in improving administrative and institutional work within the ministry.
In the context of promoting scientific research and disseminating knowledge about women in diplomacy, the Royal University for Women participated in the celebration and presented the ministry with an academic research paper titled “Women in Diplomacy.”
At the conclusion of the event, certificates of appreciation were awarded to the supporting entities, sponsors, and contributors to this national celebration.
