The Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies (MBMA) held an opening ceremony of the fifth edition of “Dhiyafa”, the International Diplomats Programme.
Dr. Shaikha Muneera bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Director General of the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies, emphasised the importance of the programme in expanding diplomatic understanding and enhancing constructive communication between young diplomats from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
She also highlighted that the current edition of the programme focuses on current international challenges and concerns, namely sustainable development, human rights, and peace.
The opening ceremony was held in an interactive setting that demonstrated the participants’ readiness to commence a structured and substantive diplomatic programme. The programme includes a variety of lectures, meetings, and interactive sessions that combine academic discourse with practical experience, in addition to field visits and cultural events aimed at introducing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s rich heritage and its future development and political vision.
The list of countries participating in the fifth edition includes: the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Kingdom of Morocco, the People’s Republic of China, Japan, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, the Republic of Maldives, the Kingdom of Belgium, the Hellenic Republic, the Republic of Cyprus, Canada, the Federative Republic of Brazil, the Kingdom of Thailand, the Republic of Serbia, the Republic of Bulgaria, Montenegro, the Republic of Turkmenistan, and Hungary.
