The United Nations in the Kingdom of Bahrain held a reception to mark its 80th anniversary.
Director General of the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies (MBMA), Dr. Shaikha Muneera bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, commended Bahrain’s longstanding partnership with the UN, highlighting the Kingdom’s commitment to peace, human rights, and sustainable development.

She also underscored Bahrain’s upcoming non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for 2026–2027 as evidence of the Kingdom’s growing international influence and active role in global diplomacy under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Khaled El Mekwad, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Bahrain, emphasised the effectiveness of the Bahrain–UN partnership, noting achievements such as the Strategic Partnership Framework for Sustainable Development 2025–2029, signed last December, as a testament to the Kingdom’s commitment to collaborative global initiatives.
