The second session of the Council of Ambassadors programme, organised by the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies, was held virtually today with the participation of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Mustapha Benkhiyi.
The session was moderated by the Executive Director of the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies, Shaikha Munira bint Khalifa bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in the presence of a number of employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to the Kingdom of Bahrain touched on the determinants of the Moroccan diplomacy such as the constitution, official directives, the geostrategic location, the ancient history of Morocco, its rich diplomatic legacy, its varied identity, and its well-established constants.
He referred to the principles of Moroccan diplomacy, which include global solidarity, human security, credibility, continuity, firmness with regard to the constants, pragmatic approach, and a combination of realism and strong determination.
He took pride in the hallmarks of Moroccan diplomacy such as openness, soft power, facing challenges, proactive, dynamic, creativity, and defending national issues, indicating that the concepts of Moroccan diplomacy are realism, ambition, clarity and responsibility
His Excellency also praised Bahraini diplomacy’s openness and defence of national issues, and its ability to face the challenges that enabled the kingdom to excel in various international forums.
He advised diplomats of the need to show high motivation, ambition and passion at work, try to achieve psychological and family stability when abroad and achieve social integration and care for the affairs of citizens abroad.
To conclude, the Moroccan Ambassador thanked the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani and the Executive Director of the Academy for hosting such events and providing an opportunity for the exchange of experiences and ideas.
