Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies organized dialogue session with European Union’s Special Representative for the Gulf region

The Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies, organized a dialogue session with the European Union Special Representative for the Gulf region, Mr. Luigi Di Maio.

The Director General of the Academy, Dr. Shaikha Muneera bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, welcomed Mr. Luigi Di Maio, praising the longstanding relations that between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the European Union, and the constant development they are witnessing in various fields.

Ambassador Shaikha Aisha bint Ahmed Al Khalifa moderated the dialogue, which addressed the most prominent developments in relations between the European Union and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, in addition to discussing a number of regional and international issues of common interest and learning about the career of Mr. Luigi Di Maio and his practical experience in the diplomatic field.


The meeting concluded with an interactive discussion session during which His Excellency took questions, stressing the European Union’s keenness to enhance cooperation and constructive communication with the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. The session was attended by a number of senior officials and members of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in addition to heads and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited to the Kingdom of Bahrain.


This session is part of the “From Manama to the World” program series organized by the Academy to showcase the real-life experiences of diplomats and highlight their career paths through direct encounters with diplomatic figures and officials from various countries. The program takes its name from Bahraini Diplomatic Day, celebrated on January 14, reflecting appreciation and recognition of Bahraini diplomacy and its prominent role in enhancing the Kingdom’s international standing.
