The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a panel discussion to mark the International Day of Women in Diplomacy, organised by the Equal Opportunities and Gender Balance Committee.
Director General of the Mohamed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies (MBMA), Dr. Shaikha Muneera bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, and the Director General of Legal Affairs and Human Rights, Dr. Yousef Abdulkarim Bucheeri, attended the event along with senior officials and members of the National Human Rights Committee.

Dr. Bucheeri highlighted the achievements of Bahraini women in diplomacy under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He also commended the role of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), in advancing women’s participation across all domains, including diplomacy.

The session was moderated by the Chief of the Human Rights Affairs Sector, Ambassador Dr. Arwa Hasan Al Sayed, and included contributions from SCW member Dr. Bahia Jawad Al Jishi, member of the National Council for Arts, Shaikha Dhowa bint Khalid Al Khalifa, UNDP Resident Representative in Bahrain, Asmaa Shalabi, and Dr. Christelle Comair from the Royal University for Women.

Panellists shared their expertise in national and international diplomacy, highlighting successful examples of Bahraini women representing the Kingdom on regional and global platforms.
