Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hosts Cybersecurity Session as Part of the 2026 Diplomatic Forum

As part of the 2026 Diplomatic Forum organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to mark the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Diplomatic Day, observed annually on 14 January, a virtual session entitled “Cybersecurity” was held.
The session was delivered by Mark Bentley, a global expert in data and communications, and was attended by Heads of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s diplomatic missions abroad, as well as officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the session, Mr. Bentley reviewed the latest regional and international challenges and threats in the field of cybersecurity, underscoring the importance of safeguarding digital infrastructure and combating cyberattacks. He highlighted the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to adopting international best practices and its active role in supporting global efforts to strengthen cybersecurity.

The session also emphasized the importance of international cooperation in addressing cyber challenges, as well as the need to exchange expertise and knowledge to enhance digital stability across the Middle East and North Africa region.

The session concluded with an interactive discussion, during which the floor was opened for questions and comments from the attendees.
