The Director General of the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies, Dr. Shaikha Muneera bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, participated in the coordination meeting of officials of diplomatic institutes and academies in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which was held at the Prince Saud Al Faisal Convention Center at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh.
During the meeting, briefs were made about academies and institutes in the GCC countries. In turn, the Director General of the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies gave a briefing on the academy’s role in qualifying and training diplomatic and administrative staff, whether at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or those abroad.
The Director-General also reviewed the most prominent achievements that the Academy made in the field of training, she also touched on a number of relevant topics include statistics on mandatory training hours for diplomats, equal opportunities in diplomatic training, teaching the Arabic language to non-native speakers, and preparation courses to diplomats before, during and after appointments abroad.
During the meeting, views were exchanged regarding the fields of diplomatic training between the heads of diplomatic institutes and academies, and various experiences in the field of diplomatic training were shared, which contributed to proposing a diverse and comprehensive set of ideas to ensure the sustainability of joint cooperation in the field of diplomatic training among member states.
MBMA’S participation in the first meeting concerned with establishing Gulf cooperation at the level of diplomatic institutes and academies is a testament to the Kingdom’s keenness to support coordination efforts in the Gulf, and to unify them in the field of training employees in a way that contributes to the development and prosperity of the region, and to achieve the common interests of brotherly countries.
