As part of Bahrain’s annual Diplomatic Day forum, a panel discussion was held featuring Dr. Ayman Safadi, Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs. Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, senior diplomats, and ministry officials, attended the event.
Ambassador Dr. Shaikha Muneera Khalifa Alkhalifa, Director General of Mohammed Bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies chaired the session as it highlighted the deep, longstanding ties between Bahrain and Jordan based on mutual respect and cooperation. Dr. Safadi emphasised the two nations’ shared commitment to strengthening partnerships and expanding collaboration across various sectors.

He congratulated Bahrain on its recent non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council and praised its balanced, wise approach to foreign policy. Dr. Safadi also underscored Bahrain’s ongoing support for Jordan and the close relationship between the two leaders, which underpins steady growth in bilateral relations.
On diplomacy’s evolving role, Dr. Safadi stressed that diplomats must be proactive problem-solvers, serving their countries in an increasingly complex global environment. He noted the expanding focus of diplomacy into economic, cultural, and technological areas driven by rapid change.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A where Bahraini diplomatic mission leaders engaged with the speakers.
