The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, met the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. Antonio Guterres, on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The Minister conveyed greetings and appreciation from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, and Prime Minister, for the efforts undertaken by the Secretary-General in enhancing international cooperation, supporting member states, and establishing security, peace, and development foundations.
The Secretary-General asked the Minister to convey his greetings and appreciation to His Majesty the King, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, expressing gratitude for the Kingdom’s cooperation and achievements in sustainable development, and wishing the kingdom continued progress and prosperity.
The meeting reviewed Bahrain’s bilateral cooperation with the United Nations and its agencies, discussing ways to enhance it, in addition to discussing topics of common interest.
The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Director-General of the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies, Dr. Shaikha Muneera bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, and the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York, Ambassador Jamal Fares Al-Rowaiei.
