Embassy in Vienna celebrates Bahraini National Days

Bahrain’s embassy in the Austrian capital Vienna hosted a reception on the occasion of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s national celebrations on 16 and 17 December, in commemoration of the establishment of the modern Bahraini state as an Arab and Muslim country founded by Ahmed Al-Fateh in 1783, the anniversary of its full membership in the United Nations and His Majesty the King’s accession to the throne.

Bahrain’s Ambassador to Austria, residing in Geneva, Dr. Yusuf Abdulkarim Bucheeri, and his wife, welcomed, along with the members of the embassy, guests to the reception.

The ambassador expressed his pleasure to host this reception for the first time since the establishment of relations between Bahrain and Austria in May 1975. He noted that this event is a milestone in the development and growth of the bilateral relations.

The ambassador pointed out to Bahrain’s long history of diplomacy and bilateral and multilateral relations, where the Kingdom celebrated this year the Golden Jubilee of Bahraini diplomacy .He invited the attendees to tour the photography exhibition organized in cooperation with the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies on the sidelines of the reception.

The Ambassador highlighted the Kingdom’s celebration of Bahraini Women’s Day, which is celebrated annually on the first of December. He noted in this regard the active participation of Bahraini women in the process of reform and sustainable development at the national level.

He also highlighted the evolving positive cooperation between Bahrain and the United Nations, stressing pride in the international honoring by the organization and the granting of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) award, and the honoring of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a World Leader in the field of health, and in recognition of his development contributions, initiatives and achievements.
