Diplomatic Institute’s Executive Director meets Russia’s Diplomatic Academy President

The Executive Director of the Diplomatic Institute, Dr. Shaikha Muneera bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, met the President o the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Troyanskiy Mikhail Grigorevich, in Moscow.

The Executive Director hailed the relations of friendship between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Russian Federation, noting the joint coordination between the two countries in various fields to achieve the common interests of both countries and people.

Dr. Shaikha Muneera noted that amongst the priorities of the Diplomatic Institute for this year are theoretical and applied programs with a primary focus on languages. She added that in the current age, diplomats must be fluent in more than 2 languages at least. For this purpose, the Diplomatic Institute is reinforcing its cooperation with local and international bodies to develop partnerships that serve this objective.

Dr. Shaikha Muneera stated that the academic foundations of the Diplomatic Institute aim at enhancing the capabilities of its diplomats in order for them to participate more effectively in the international community. In this regard, she recalled the achievements of Bahraini diplomats over the past years, highlighting the Kingdom’s role at the regional and international levels.

For his part, the President of the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed his delight in hosting the students of the Diplomatic Institute in the Diplomatic Academy in Moscow, which comes in line with the policy of strengthening regional and international partnerships between diplomatic institutes and academies in the world.

He stated that the Diplomatic Academy has implemented a number of important international diplomatic programs, adding that the challenges of the current time require concerted efforts that aim at achieving the same objective. He added that through such cooperation, diplomats experience diplomatic action which include negotiation, settlement of disputes and the signing of agreements, thus enriching their diplomatic knowledge and experience.
