Deputy Prime Minister His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa has patronised the inauguration of the new premises of the Institute of Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
I am delighted to attend the inauguration of the new premises of the Institute of Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which comes within the framework of modernisation and development witnessed by the Ministry since its establishment five decades ago, to act as an executive tool for Bahrain’s foreign policy in its regional and international environment and the establishment of diplomatic relations with its brotherly Arab countries and the world, HH Shaikh Mohammed said.
The representation of Bahrain in regional and international organisations and their participation in meetings and conferences is also part of its establishment, in addition to contributing to the interests of the country and its citizens through its embassies and missions accredited abroad.
The process of development and modernisation to keep up with the current state of the world we live in requires a search in ways and means that contribute to the improvement of performance, the foremost of these factors is the establishment of training institutes in various fields of work.
The inauguration of the institute’s new premises is an accomplishment to the ministry, which aimed at introducing new programmes to develop its employee’s performance through scholarships in diplomatic courses and participation in meetings of the General Assembly of the United Nations and its committees, as well as attend conferences and meetings, and work in Bahraini embassies and missions abroad.
I would like to express my utmost thanks and appreciation to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, for his tireless efforts to enhance the work of the Ministry and to equip its diplomats and employees to carry out the tasks assigned to them efficiently and successfully. I also wish those working in the Institute success in achieving the goals for which it was established, for the great benefit of our dear country, he commented.
Foreign Affairs Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, delivered a speech in which he expressed his gratitude to Deputy Premier HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa for patronising the inauguration of the new premises of the Diplomacy Institute, and for his generous patronage of the ceremony.
The minister also added that His Highness is considered one of the foundations of Bahraini diplomacy, noting that his marks and contributions will continue to pave the way for a prosperous Foreign Affairs Ministry and its cadres.
He affirmed that the positions and policies of His Highness will be engraved in the memory of this country and significantly marked in its history.
Shaikh Khalid welcomed Amr Moussa, and highlighted his symbolic Arab diplomacy, praising his political and diplomatic solutions on the Arab, Islamic and international levels, whether as Egyptian Foreign Affairs Minister or as Secretary General of the League of Arab States.
He also commended him for the many years in which he had made vital positions in support of our issues, which still affects our present and acts as a role model in our diplomatic work, as well as serves Arab interests.
The Minister expressed his thanks for the participation of many of the diplomatic figures recognised for their high efficiency and tireless efforts, in this event.
Shaikh Khalid praised the efforts of all the Institute’s organisers for their ambitious strategic objectives, affirming keenness to support the Institute by creating more qualified diplomats and establishing a great knowledge base in diplomacy and partnership building, as well as exchanging experiences with the most important research and training centres, universities and scientific institutes.
He expressed his confidence that this institute will support the foreign policy of Bahrain and provide it with expertise capable of maintaining its values and approach based on openness, interaction and cooperation that serve the interests of all, and highlight the Kingdom’s achievements and ability to deal positively with all regional and international developments.
The minister added that the advanced strategies developed by the Institute will equip Bahrain’s future diplomats according to the highest academic standards and the most prestigious scientific programmes and practical exercises, and support them with the required knowledge and diplomatic skills that enable them to strengthen Bahrain’s relations with different countries of the world.
Amr Moussa praised the role and efforts of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, expressing his congratulations to Shaikh Khalid on the opening of the new premises of the Diplomacy Institute.
He referred to the Manama Dialogue, which is an important summit where a large number of politicians, economists and media people from all over the world came to know the situation in the Kingdom and the region in this critical time.
He also stressed the importance of solving the Palestinian issue and discussed climate change and its effects regionally and internationally, stressing the importance of establishing a new Arab system that focuses on the Arab identity and achieving its interests.
