Conclusion of Ramadan Ambassadors Council program, organized by MBMA

The “Ramadan Ambassador Council” program, organized by the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies (MBMA), concluded its fourth edition today. The Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Ms. Retheisri Wigertney Mendes, participated in the session, in the presence of senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its members.

The session was moderated by the Director-General of the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies, Dr. Shaikha Muneera bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, in which she expressed her appreciation to the Sri Lankan ambassador for participating in the program.

Ms. Retheisri expressed her deep gratitude to MBMA for organizing this program and providing the opportunity to participate in it. She wished the Academy continued success.

The Ambassador expressed her appreciation for the support and assistance she received to help facilitate her work in Bahrain since her appointment, expressing her appreciation for all the efforts made to strengthen bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.

She emphasized the historical ties between Bahrain and Sri Lanka, highlighting their mutual growth. She also acknowledged Bahrain’s role in combating COVID-19 and expressing hopes for further progress and prosperity.

The Ambassador discussed Sri Lanka’s foreign policy, career journey, and experiences in politics and diplomacy, including positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and global capitals. She also answered questions from the audience.

Dr. Shaikha Muneera expressed her sincere gratitude to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, and the program’s organizers for its success, and looks forward to the fifth edition next year.
