Bahrain’s Ambassador to Japan, Ahmed Mohammed Al-Dossari, has affirmed the embassy’s readiness to provide Bahraini students studying in Japanese universities with aid and advice.
He expressed full confidence in Bahraini students’ efforts to reflect a good image of the Kingdom of Bahrain through excellence, academic achievement and good dealing with their surroundings and communities living there to be the Kingdom’s best ambassadors abroad.
This came as the ambassador gave on Wednesday evening, May 13, 2020 an virtual lecture with a group of Bahraini students studying abroad, organised by the Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD) in cooperation with the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies under the title “Ambassadors of the Nation” as part of a series of lectures via the Internet.
He touched on the definition of the Bahraini political system in the constitution and the National Action Charter, and the institutions in charge of the political decision-making process, the legislative, executive and judicial powers and he shed light on their in shaping the Kingdom’s foreign policy in accordance with the constitution and the charter,.
The Ambassador stressed that Bahrain’s deep-rooted foreign policy is based on principles and values emanating from the national identity and human culture and its civilised interaction with the world with its various cultures and civilizations, thanks to the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, who established the principles of the Bahraini foreign policy.
Then, he reviewed the main features of HM the King’s reform approach and its gains in various political, economic and social fields, stressing the role played by Bahraini students abroad in highlighting these achievements and their impact on the lives of citizens and residents, as well as the Kingdom’s status at the International level.
The ambassador pointed out the importance of students’ awareness of their rights, guaranteed by international human rights covenants and conventions, mentioning the Universal Human Rights Declaration, the two international covenants, and the Declaration on the Human Rights of Individuals Who are not Nationals of the Country in which They Live, stressing that students’ observances of host countries’ laws is what protects students from legal accountability.
Talking about the most important tasks undertaken by Bahraini diplomatic missions abroad, the ambassador highlighted the prominent role played by all the Kingdom’s embassies in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in serving citizens abroad and caring for their interests.
In this respect, he pointed to the efforts being made to evacuate those wishing to return to the Kingdom after the spread of the Corona virus “COVID-19”, advising those wishing to return home to register through Wejhaty or contact the Kingdom’s embassies abroad.
