INSPIRING TOMORROW'S LEADERS

The program was comprehensive in offering a balance between academic and practical content. It gave me the opportunity to explore critical topics such as International Relations and Political Philosophy, in addition to practicing actual work in the Ministry’s different directorates. The program also focused on developing important soft skills for diplomats, such as public speaking and the ability to work under pressure. Another important outcome of the program is the network created between the participants from different directorates.

There are three elements to success: desire, ability and opportunity. As a child, I had the desire to represent Bahrain in the best possible way. The Junior Diplomat Program was my gateway to this opportunity. I can now say that I have the ability to carry out a diplomatic mission. At first, I faced some challenges, but my determination to move forward towards success drove me to overcome them, during which I learned the essentials to political analysis and diplomatic representation. The JDP is an excellent idea, as it aims to educate its participants on all matters related to diplomacy.

The high academic standards of the Institute were challenging and most useful for equipping aspiring diplomats with the necessary skills and knowledge required through an effective combination of theoretical and practical studies. The guidance and expertise of lecturers and eminent speakers at the Institute helped me understand the different responsibilities and functions of the profession. The Diplomatic Institute has enabled me to realize different perspectives on international relations and understand foreign policies through various analytical skills.

When my memory takes me back in time, I clearly see bright points of life that made a difference, and changed what came after that, from what I used to. The light of the Junior Diplomats Program journey is never dimmed, but it has become brighter with every step in my diplomatic career, I am clearly aware of the difference that this program has made in my diplomatic formation and my ability to practice the job. The Junior Diplomat Program will be preferred in every success I will achieve or a position I will reach in my diplomatic career, because it Illuminate the right path since the first day for me as a Bahraini diplomat.
