Foreign Minister highlights significance of “Year of Isa Al Kabeer” initiative

Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, commended the royal order designating this year the “Year of Isa Al Kabeer” in honour of Bahrain’s founder of the modern state and strengthening security, stability, justice, and prosperity.

The Minister said this initiative reflects Bahrain’s pride in its historical and cultural heritage and its commitment to preserving national identity and passing it on to future generations, highlighting the cultural importance of the project to revive Isa Al Kabeer Palace in Muharraq. He added that Bahrain’s diplomatic and development achievements build on this historical legacy, guided by balanced leadership and long-standing diplomatic principles rooted in dialogue, cooperation, and peaceful coexistence. Dr. Al Zayani noted that Bahrain will continue its active regional and international role during the “Year of Isa Al Kabeer,” through its non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council, chairmanship of the Arab Group at UNESCO, and presidency of the GCC Supreme Council, while maintaining its moderate diplomatic approach and commitment to international peace, human rights, and sustainable development.
